did you just call me old - seniorpreneur

You’ve worked hard for most of your life and it is now time for you to enjoy the results of your efforts. Most retirees would reap their rewards by doing what they always wanted do, be it travelling or trying out a new sport or activity. People have this notion that once you retire, you stop earning money and just spend it all. Fortunately, you can still earn while still enjoying your retirement if you are willing to take a risk in starting your own business. Some may believe that once you reach retirement age, you are already too old to do so but we believe otherwise. Here are the reasons why:

1. Additional income – you may have already a large amount of savings from work but starting your own business means that you will have the opportunity to increase that amount even more.

2. You are your own boss – you may have been reporting to someone else at work but with your own business, you get to do what you want. You control everything.

3. You can make your hobby into something profitable – if you are into knitting or carving sculptures or anything along those lines, you can create original pieces that you can sell to other people.

4. Time is not an issue – you have the option to operate your business full-time or even just part time if you want to pursue other activities. You can work whenever you want to.

5. Age is just a number
– you do not necessarily have to be in your twenties or thirties to have your own business; you can even do so during your retirement. In fact, there are some successful entrepreneurs who achieved massive success in terms of business during their retirement years than during the period when they worked in a 9 to 5 job.

6. You are bringing your life and work experiences to the table – they say that experience is the best teacher and the time you spent on your job will guide you to make your business thrive.

7. Great way to spend your time – since you now have all the time in the world for you to do what you want, you can use that time wisely and hit two birds with one stone: engage in activities you really enjoy and earn from them.

8. Networking will be easy
– since you definitely know a lot of people by now compared to when you were younger, introducing your business will be easier and marketing will be faster.

9.Funds are hardly an issue – you do not need a large amount of capital for your business. By now, you probably have some savings and other investments and risking a small amount for your business will not pose problems.

10. Opportunity to fulfill your dreams
– your career path may not be exactly what you envisioned. Most people stayed in their jobs for the sake of their paychecks. Starting a business will allow you to finally achieve your dreams and have that career you’ve always wanted.
