To help encourage other would be later life entrepreneurs I’ve decided to reveal how much I earn from the Seniorpreneur website. I’ve made it quite clear I don’t expect this venture to make millions, very far from it, but what I would like to do is put some extra cash in my back pocket.
Given the current State Pension is £113.10 per week I think we could all do with some extra money each week. My twelve month target is to be earning £1,000 per month, but honestly, when you hear from people explaining how difficult it is to get by on the State Pension you quickly realise any extra money each week, or month, is a blessing.
The site was launched early September, September 9th to be exact. Since launching I have mainly focused on writing some articles for the website, which is then shared across our social media properties. Over time I’d like to build a community where we can share ideas, ask questions and create a hub for seniors seeking to start and grow their own businesses, and to provide them with opportunities to continue working, if they choose to.
If you would like to be a part of the seniorpreneur movement and believe you have something to contribute, you can do so here. I’d like to hear from later life evangelists, thought leaders, business owners, business start-ups, people looking for work, retirees who are breaking the rules of a traditional retirement. . . I think you get the idea. If you have something meaningful to contribute I want to hear from you.
The two main sources of income have initially focused on Google Adsense and Bing Ads (Media.net). If you’re unsure of how this type of advertising works have a look at this short video.
Adsense income for September was £263.13
This was a nice result for the first month. I’m hoping it continues but I will have to wait for further data in future months to see what the trends look like.
Bing Ads income for September was $109.44 (~£68.17)
The first thing you will notice is Bing Ads hasn’t delivered as much revenue as Google Adsense. From the information you can find on the internet this seems quite normal, but once again I’m quite please with the result. If you want to know more about how you can add Bing Ads to your website you can find out more here.
As I come across products which I believe are genuinely useful to other seniorpreneurs I will give you details. Some of these products may be linked to an affiliate program where a small commission is paid to Seniorpreneur, if a sale is generated.
Amazon income for September was £0.49
49p is certainly nothing to get over excited about. The 49p was the result of one book sale and one Kindle eBook sale.
TOTAL INCOME – SEPTEMBER
Bing Ads £68.17
So that’s the score for September, £331.79. You can track my progress here. I’m still a long way off my £1,000 monthly target but for month one I’m fairly happy with the result.
Like many people around my age we are redefining what retirement is all about. Our generation is not satisfied with just sitting around waiting for time to pass. We’re breaking the rules and making our latter years mean something.
